| 1. When entering a Surname,
remember that a surname can have
many spelling variations. Do not
limit your search to one variation
of the name. |

2. The Description
can contain many things. If you did not find
the surname you were looking for in the Surname
field, try entering it into the Description
field. The Description should contain all other
names on the document.

3. Less is
more. The smaller the amount of information you
enter into a search field, the more likely you are
to have results returned.
For example, entering into the description “Edwards
of Cornwall” will retrieve fewer results than
just “Edwards”.
It may just happen to be the same Edwards, but the
manuscript was not archived in that manner. |
